The chicken name we had that always made my friends smile was Peckham - or to give her her full name, Victoria Peckham.
Names I saw somewhere that made me smile and which I might pinch are: Princess Layer and Hen Solo!

We have 11 girls now left out of 13.
They were: Genevieve and Anastasia (my 2 Silver sussex - although 'Fanny-Annie' (Anastasia) is a cross with a Black Rock ;) - no way she's pure Silver Sussex!);

Betty (White Sussex - RIP) and Jenny (Brown Lohman)

Grace (Columbian Blacktail) and Kelly (Speckeldy - RIP) - John wanted 'Sage & Onion' but me and his wife said no!!

Snowy (Amber Rock) and Sooty (Black Rock) - Snowy follows us around like a lost dog!!

Gertie (Grey Marans - vicious bully) and Daisy (Black Rock)

We then acquired 3 beautiful red girls - (possibly Red Rock x Sussex is my guess) called Dorothy, Ruby and Rosie.

Adore them all. Dorothy (who was the queen of the 3 degrees as I like to call them) is very badly pecked, as is my Anastasia.

There are 5 of us who keep the hens at the lottie - I don't know where all the names came from; John was being funny with Grace & Kelly (fairly obvious to most ;) ).

My Genevieve was named after the film of the same name - I love that car - I love most old cars (and fast cars!!!) and Anastasia suited her at first as she was fairly regal in her manner - until everyone picked on her!!!

Snowy and Sooty because they are effectively black and white!

Rosie and Ruby - Ruby is a very dark red necked girl. Rosie is deep red with an orange Sussex pattern to her neck like my Genevieve has in silver.

I had a Light Sussex called Gloria.  My manager at work named her after she went missing, only to found some weeks later.  She will survive!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now what shall I do today?

Our chickens have to be named after Superheros.
We've got a black Sussex called Batman a bluebell called Wolverine and two Polish Spiderman and Mysterio. In the past we've had Bruce Lee (who also died in mysterious circumstances!) Phoenix and Medusa and recently a gorgeous black Sumatra called Magneto. I feel like I'm assembling the Avengers whenever I call them back into their coop! I get some funny looks from the neighbours (and the vet)  :tongue2:
