Pansies
« on: May 23, 2020, 10:11 »
My wife loves her pansies in the spring and normally buys anything up to a hundred fo them from the local garden center... at some cost! I though, being the thrifty type  , I would have a bash growing from seed and saving about €50 at least. My question is when to sow the seeds so plants will be ready to go out into the ground in say early November ?

never grown from seed but have got excellent results by buying plug plants. I use several diff suppliers and as the adverts and offers drop onto my email or facebook I then decide and get some on order. Cost per plant works out very low. Will be doing same later this year for violas as they are a lovely show in pots and baskets. Have also done for bergonias etc. Once plugs arrive I set out in module trays and put in greenhouse to let mature and they are easy to plant out from the modules. Best of luck.
