What are your favourite teenage memories?
« on: October 27, 2024, 10:18 »
One of mine is when I walked down Morecambe promenade wearing a shift dress (remember those?) which was made from a brown glazed cotton with seashells on it that my mum made. I wore stilettos and wore a fake daisy in my long hair. I felt so free with it blowing gently in the wind.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

One of my favourite memories was going camping every weekend with some of the lads that lived on my street. We'd pack up tents and sleeping bags and walk for miles across fields to find a camping spot, light a camp fire, pop open some home brew we'd made and then listen to radio Luxembourg until we fell asleep.. those were some of the best days of my teenage years!

I also used to have a sleep over with my friend and we listened to Radio Luxembourg in bed. Remember Horace Bachelor?

Simple... Being a young PuNK rocker
Late 70s was great.
Still good now but sadly my hero's of back then are slowly moving on.
Punk isn't dead...it's underground where it belongs. If it comes to the surface it's no longer punk...it's Green Day!

The miners strikes, as we had power cuts and used to sit with candles & play board games & talk instead of having the tv on & being told to “shut up I’m watching this”.

Going down to Brighton after a Saturday night party in London and paddling in the sea at 1 a.m.

Great fun, no one harmed… just a bit damp  :D :D :D

I seem to have been a bit naughtier than most, so far.....
I vividly remember being an uncomfortable passenger, wedged on the back of the racing seat of a noisy 650cc Norton on the way from East London to Johnson's Cafe, on the A20 near Brands Hatch, in the '60s
The lads were always trying to see how fast they could get their bikes to go between the cafe and the roundabout. The aim was to put a song on the jukebox and ride past Brands Hatch to the next roundabout and back before it stopped playing.
My Mum would have had a fit if she'd known - so it is a good job she never found out, isn't it!

Thankfully back then,  there were no cameras or video apps recording everything we were doing and streaming it to the internet unlike today.
