This year I'm trying the sand bag composter.  Someone on the site posted a link about it a while back.  Maybe one of the moderators could find it again.  The builders down the road were only too happy to give me a bag they were finished with.  I've also filled one with manure and planted a pumpkin plant in it-it's nice and cosy in there and sheltered by the sides so it's doing quite well. Although some of the small fruit have fallen off, this goes for the plants grown in the ground-maybe it's all the rain we've had?

Off to look for that posting. I'm ashamed I've still not got compost going  :oops:  :oops:  :oops:  :oops:  Very ashamed! Maybe I should buy one plastic bin to start with? Everytime I spot pallets, they're gone the next day or in the evening  :cry: .

Soory, I have just realised that there was a message for me  :oops:

I think I have a leaflet for plastic ones from £10 somewhere...

I have also learnt from a plot holder that the council had actually given each plot holder one compost bin free !

I wanted to check up on that, but I can never get in touch with the woman in charge at Kier's  :? I have given up a bit now.

Anyway, after a bit of searching, I thought that the kind of compost bin I ordered looked much easier to use that the round plastic ones. It might just be an impression but well, I will soon find out
