We are trying gherkins for the first time too. But our variety is Venlo pickling. Our plan is to sow this weekend in a coldframe and then plant out late May.

Should be fun to see what happens!

I'm growing Cornichon de Paris, tiny little gherkin ones, according to the blurb  ::)

We'll see.........a couple more weeks before i do mine, then I won't have to pot them on ;)

I'm trying the Venlo, too.  I have some planted in pots indoors and they are just coming through.  I love pickled gerkins but have never tried to grow them myself before.
