Very sad day today as I found Dip this morning and she had died.  When I got home last night I couldn't find her anywhere.  It was getting dark and I couldn't see clearly but thought I had checked everywhere.  Obviously not as this morning I found her under the garden table.  She hadn't been attacked and I don't know whether she was there last night and I missed her or what had happened.  Do chickens have heart attacks?  I say this because it looked like she had literally just keeled over.  She wasn't huddled up but stretched out on her back.  Feeling very sad at the moment and guess we will never really find out what she died of.

very sad, but a better way to die than being ill for some time.
i have read on the site that chucks can have heart attacks and just die quickly with no apparent reason, would prefer that to seeing them go on for some time, like i have had trying to get them better and failing.

So sorry to hear of Dip  dying, its always so hard, but like everyone has said, she had a good life with a caring person, and what looks like a swift end, which as grumpydad says is much preferable to a long illness.

Thanks for all the nice thoughts everone.  Was strange this morning to see just 2 coming out.  They both seem ok.

My vet told me that they can have a heart atack after i lost a ciouple of girls suddenly. I am so sorry to hear thet you have lost Dip.((((( Hugs))))
