Afternoon all.

I'm the "bandwagon jumper" ;) who recently bought the F410 on the bay for £528.88.

£400-450 was my initial max, but the girl's in such good nick for her age she was worth paying the bit extra for.

As Frankie said, the modern day equivalent is well in excess of a grand and the offset handles and split gearbox make the job...well...a walk in the park...so all things considered money well spent for me.

Don't suppose anyone has an owner's manual kicking around do they?  I picked up the F400 manual from here (thanks for that) and reckon the basic principles are probably the same...I'm not entirely clueless, just trying to avoid the "you idiot!" moment that's bound to be lurking.

Glad your happy with your purchase, I am as it was easier to justify my £250 spend on an F400 to the missus when i showed her the F410 going for £528.88.

Cant help with the manual though sorry

Cheers

I used the F400 tonight. You could get the engine book from the Honda site. The F610 has a similar gearbox. And also it has steering clutches.
£500 is not bad for a good 410. Spares are expensive for the honda. So a bad one  could cost a fortune on repairs.

I think the 510 has a vertical hitch and the 400 has a horizontal hitch. A adaptor should be easy to make.

Hello all.  Since I can't find a carb. to replace the bad one on my Honda F400 tiller, I was thinking about buying a newer style Honda engine to get it going.  I've been thinking about a Honda GX120-HX2 4 HP Honda O.H.V. Design.  If I go this way, I can still get spare engine parts as I have no problem finding spare chassis parts on ebay.  My main question is anyone familiar with both of these enough to know if the output shafts are the same diameter and is the bolt pattern similar?

I don't know much about the Honda, but if you take the engine details to your local dealer, and measure the diameter of the shaft, you should be able to get an engine to fit, or at least find out excately what engine you need to get.
On your Honda engine already present, there will be some letters and numbers etched into the engine casing, these will tell the supplier the type of application/shaft diameter and length etc.

It's 4 stroke, it's made by Honda. Whatever you wants?

when I took off the float bowl, I found nothing but a ton of white oxidized powder.  It looks like something chemically reacted in the bowl, and everything aluminum on the lower end of the carb is totally shot.

It does by water in fuel system. I had the same problem with my F200. Lucky, not much damages, so just cleaned well with solvent.
