So true,
but at two months old he's learning fast he can already sits on command , he's almost house trained and  walks well on the lead
he's made friends with a black lab and learning a lot  from him. Still at the nipping stage though and he has all the border collie habits of herding his  tried  it with the lab but the lab won't let him.

You certainly do need lots of energy, I've lost a few pounds walking him. But his worth it, border collies  are such fast learner's and  so intelligent .
Now six months old and getting bigger every day,We have already been asked about him being stud next year.

What a beautiful boy  :)  You must love him to bits.

My neighbour has one in that colour, a little girl, and she plays outside all day in the big garden and doesn't go in til it's dark.  She has walks on top of that too. A dog totally unsuited to couch potatoes. Perhaps that's why so many of them end up in rescue centres

My hubby is  retired and he was becoming a bit of a couch potato until we got max, now he walks for miles, and enjoys every minute.
Such a shame that so many border collies end up in rescue centers, people should really do there research before buying this breed, or any working dog, they are a lot of work, but its worth it. :D

I walk a hound every week and I can't help thinking that his owners would have been better off with a lap dog  :nowink:

This is ours, at the same sort of age, now 7. Always described her, and our old dog, as string dogs when they were young and lanky.

OH made me laugh earlier. He just told me that he met a youngster (BC) this morning at a customer's house. He described it and the way it was moving as a load of pipe cleaners jumping about. :D Made me

Max is a real cutey. A friend of mine has an adult  border collie and it works her and hubby hard   :D All guests must first pass the 'throw the toy for 10 minutes' stage before entry, and then he sits and waits for you to finish eating before presenting the toy again for the post dinner throw time.

One time the hubby thought he'd wear out the dog with ball throwing. An hour later hubby gave up because his arm was so sore   :D
