after seeing the smashing houses in the book i got off freecycle, its got me thinking whether or not i should put a window in my chookhouse?

Im intending on letting the girls come out into the run everyday if they want to, so would any extra light make much difference?

if you have a glazed window the light gets in at dawn thus extending the birds day and its laying time ..... absolutly neccasary mate

I have a shed which has been adapted for the cooks. Pop hole, perches, nesting area etc. It has a window but I have a blind which I lower at night when I shut them up. People think that they are posh chickens but I do it so that in the summer the cockrel does not crow as early - still early enough though and at night in winter they are not disturbed by the lights on cars from any visitors that we might have. 8)
