Our garden centre sells it to go on the gardens, and I know it does well in the veg patch so I would think it would be an excellent addition to your compost  :D  :D
Happiest in the countryside.

Chicken poo, raw is very high in nitrogen and can burn plants but it's wonderful stuff for getting a compost heap rotting down.

Once rotted in the heap, brilliant stuff. Same goes for pigeon dung etc.

Babe - naming your carrot. Have you stopped taking your pills again? :)

My lovely friend Terence was a turkey, I cant quite make it suit a carrot Babe but never mind I shall work on it. John, you talk as if Babe has a screw loose, I think she is perfectly normal

I've decided not to get chickens as it seems to send one to the funny farm. Fortunately I'm not allowed on my site and my garden is too small.

No Babe - no problem...

I'm going to calmly leave the room now... easy Babe don't pick up the knife - I know it's pretty but Brian wouldn't like it..

I put masses of chicken poo on my veg and fruit beds last fall and rotovated it in so it could rot down over winter. Have done it whenever I can get it. Much easier than  composting if you've got a lot. I'd never use it in spring as there's not enough breakdown time unless it's already rotted down.  8)
