Howdy Folks, ltnc and all that . . .  . . .

I have the above petrol strimmer, it has two fuel lines that just push into the tank, literally, and as a consequence, appear to annually start to leak, about 3 years ago I bought a new tank with fuel lines, and they're not cheap for a bit of plastic, it's leaked for the last two years at least - the design doesn't even qualify as a 'design' IMO . . . . . . . . lol . . . . .

So. . . . . . . . I thought I might ask If anyone has any suggestions, I've tried silicon, much to my amusement it swells with the petrol, so that's out, the internal bore seems quite specific to the fuel it lets through, and I can't find a rubber tube that would definitely be useable, so my next thought was to use a semi flexible epoxy resin that I use to repair fishing rod bindings with, and seal them in, cos' I ain't buying a new tank every year to use it a handful of times !

Anyone out there with a suggestion I've not thought of ???

Thank you

Dave

Deja vue again...

I have a good smear of vaseline around mine and everything seems happy.

try the local mower repair shop (or motorbike shop) they should sell small bore petrol grade tubing, usually by the metre, the the existing there to get the right size, even new stuff will need replacing every few years, so if you buy a length it will keep you going a while (it only goes hard / soft when in use).

Thank you  both for your suggestions, just been out looking and B n Q and the local car shop were no help, I'll search ebay to save driving all over I think. . . . . . . I thought  of modding the tank with brake lines . . . . . .  seeing as I have a 'spare' to practise on but I'll see what eBay throws up first  8)

Could I also recycle this thread and ask about an exhaust muffler for my B & S while I have your attention? It's a bit loud these days, was looking at getting a new 'un but how do I find a part number or compatible part, Iooked on ebay but they don't look the same as mine and  - do I understand correctly that If my engine number starts with 28, as it does, that's all I need to look for compatibility-wise?

The manual says 91271 for the actual exhaust part number but searching that didn't come up with much and indeed some that clearly weren't going to fit. . . . .

I think I've answered then exhaust question using a bit of google-fu  ;)

GHS in Worc's, very helpful guy on the phone went through just about every detail and got me a compatible model at under  half the cost of a Murray original, fingers crossed now that we're right and it fits lol . . . . . . . . .
