I have a good local source of used whisky barrels, halved for use as planters. Anyone interested, please send me a PM so as not to sully this informational site with commercial chit-chat.
Features: solid oak, last for YEARS (15 or more)
good to look at (good to smell too)
large (internal dimensions, 30cm deep by 60cm top diameter)
heavy (but might still get stolen - hammer a spike through bottom)
use on patios, driveways, paths, anywhere
Notes: best to ship by pallet (max 24 planters, plenty to share between a few of you)
perfect for flowers, carrot or any invasive plants, e.g. mint
can use to hold down polythene mulch - and much improve the looks too
can consider part-exchange for ??
tell me where you are so that I can advise if any near-neighbours might want to share a pallet with you

I should imagine that drinking a barrell of whiskey would be a good way to discover religion. The next day you would stagger around, going 'Oh God! oh God!'

LOL you wouldn't be in any fit state to stagger after 3 days let alone speak!
I fortunately live surrounded by Whisky distilleries, Whyte and MacKay, Dalmore and Glenmorangie just up t'road. I tried some of the unblended stuff from the distillery workers and it's far superior (and more potent) than the bottled stuff.
The distillery workers used to get a dram 3 times a day at work but these days they get a bottle a month instead. Imao a bottle of whisky a month!

To make yourself really ill, try Norwegian Aquavit. Looks bad, tastes bad and by golly it makes you bad.

I had a bottle of that in the house once ... something about having been shipped South across the Equator (hence Linje) before being taken back North to be sold in Norway. Only the Norwegians would dream up something like that (and it still tasted awful).

But it does have the magical effect of making you able to speak Norwegian after drinking half a bottle. You can also drive cars and fly planes if you could only get the key in the door!
Only joking, btw. I never drive drunk - would never forgive myself if I killed someone due to being impaired.
