Title: Strange egg production
Post by: themagicaltoad1 on August 26, 2012, 22:17
A few weeks ago my oldest 2 hens started laying softies and odd shaped eggs, and I found what appeared to be a lash. Then they stopped laying altogether and I just assumed they had finished their egg laying days. This week they've suddenly started laying perfect eggs again and for the first time EVER today we had an egg from every single chicken! They must have overheard me saying I would get some more hens and it panicked them into laying again. :D

It's a long fleshy thing, a piece of their reproductive system. Once they've passed a lash they don't produce anymore eggs. God knows what the thing was that I thought was a lash???
