Yes T&M do excellent seed's and no doubt their seed pot's are good to, but I buy mine from different places such as the allotment shop, there's a good nursery at Narborough which is about 20-25 mins from us but well worth it very good value for money, wilko's seed pot's are always been good for me, so have B&Q's etc. Most will have a label on them somewhere stating where they have come from look at that and make sure they are certified disease free.
If they haven't got that don't buy also give them a quick poke to make sure they are not soft and useless, I personally don't buy if the eyes have grown much more than 1'2 inch.

Very much agree, T&M can be on the pricey side, but I do not know anyone else selling blight resistant pots though.

Simpsons seeds are also good for pots.

Look at the postage charges - that can make a big difference (assuming you haven't got a good shop nearby). This year I bought some good ones in Poundland so keep a good look out.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

ill keep my eyes out for potatoes etc in local shops, im sure that when the time comes there will be plenty of places round here that stock stuff.

i just need to figure out what im going to put where and when, im really looking forward to having my own veg patch after just having a greenhouse for the last few years!!

Where ever you buy make sure its "Certified Seed. "

This has been a distastrous year for spuds so please donot take a chance.

I've ordered mine from T&M and they gave another 20 tubers free so it worked out fairly reasonable.

I was going to buy locally, but I had a panic when 2 of the local garden centres told me that they don't think they will get a good selection this time due to the problems this summer.

So much to do, but so little time.

I buy seed potatoes from my local garden centre and get them cheaper because I get them by the sack, plus I have a 10% discount card, if I buy loose I can pick them myself, and there is no postage. They (Disiree, Kestrel & Maris Piper all grew really well this year, despite the blight (I panicked too early when I dug up some plants near the edge and thought my crop was ruined - the others were fine, no in fact probably best ever, must have been because I got the in so early).

I bought Vale Sovereign & Estima (bakers)from T&M, which were expensive + postage, but I wanted some potatoes with the potential to grow very large (over 2lbs each) for the village show. But they didn't do very well, and even those which had all that extra attention didn't grow nearly as big as the tubers grown from Asda's baking potaoes (with which I won). Won't bother with T&M next year.

Hi Moggy,

At the risk of repeating meself, I would encourage you to have a look at Tucker's Seeds. Huge variety, including heritage types, and all at the right prices (around 4 quid for 3kg). Postage is about £6 for up to 30kg, so you could split your order with a friend and save even more dosh.

I've used Tuckers for over 10yrs now and don't bother with any other supplier for me taters.

It's worth ordering a catalogue for disease resistance and usage info not given on the website.
