I set the timer on my microwave and pressed start, and thought to myself, that's really showing its age, perhaps it's time to think about replacing it, when pft!! It stopped working! 

Did I give it the evil eye?  It was just so very strange...

Our microwave has some funny habits too!

It had to be replaced after nine months, but this one sometimes - not always - emits a sort of crackling noise when it's not working, and on standby...

I bought a new plug extension with a switch to turn it off when not in use, and a few weeks later, it's been a quiet as a mouse!

And the desk-top cooker has gone into a sulk, since I bought an air fryer, which is just fabulous!

Like garden tools, these appliances still have hearts - evil though they might be, if you don't look out...

My fridge-freezer sometimes makes a noise like a cow mooing despite me feeding it with various meals and a spare bottle of milk. Fortunately I have a back up for both in the garage. I've also found that I wanted to hoick out a plant, shrub or tree as it wasn't doing its job then, lo and behold, it suddenly gave a great display. Weird innit!
