I very nearly got caught this morning. Mine is renewed around now and I was about to take the email link to renew. After checking online it's not expired yet and looking a little deeper at the renewal email it's a very convincing scam.  Be careful out there, they'll take the sugar out of your tea if you let them. Never click any renewal links sent in emails always go directly to the website and do it from there.  I've given myself a stern talking to for being careless.

Thanks for that Lardy. Yet another scam to be careful of. I watch Scam Interceptors and so understand why some people can get totally drawn in to something that sounds so convincing. I once nearly got caught out with a supposed Amazon account scam, but my inner antenna kicked in so I put the phone down. I then dialled 1471 to get their number and to also disconnect them from my phone, then called Action fraud (I think it's 159) and gave them their number. I was so heartened when they told me I'd done all the right things including making a call after putting the phone down.
