Building a dedicated cucumber/sweet pepper grower!

Bit of a strange one for you guys not even sure it would work? 

I have a load of off cuts of clear polycarb sheeting from work and limited space at home so no chance of a greenhouse.  I also daren't put one on the allotment as it'll get smashed for sure!

My plan is to grow salad stuff at home so my boys can get involved and pick fresh when they like, but I have no-where to grow cucumbers or sweet peppers.

Do you think it would work if I made a frame up clad in clear sheeting, with polythene draped down the front like a mini greenhouse.  If so what sort of size would I need to grow a couple of cucumber & pepper plants.  It would be better if it was tall and thin to fit down the side of my house.

I have built this frame at home, now with clear sheets down the sides and a white upvc backing to use for potting and starting things off, etc.  If it was similar without the shelves would it be big enough you think?

It's a great place to start them off, but not sure how well they'd grow on. You'd have to stick with midget bush cukes, otherwise they'll take over that space. And green peppers need 5 gal pots for their big roots.

Another consideration is that you'd need to water everything daily, twice daily in any heat.
