Create a "Smaller" Folder.  It will copy the original pics to the smaller folder.  Your original pics are left alone.  I promise you its ok.

I remember I could not do that at one time used to say item too large, so chuffed that works now 

The site has been upgraded so the attachment files can be larger now.  It was a bit of a pain before.     There are odd ones that are still too large so you can resize first as BobE says.

It is listed under the Attach:  "Allowed file types: gif, jpg, mpg, pdf, png, jpeg
 Restrictions: 4 per post, maximum total size 3000KB, maximum individual size 1000KB"
