Hi Jim

Just had a look through one of my Katie Thear books and she recommends these as dual purpose breeds :)

Barnevelder
Ixworth
jersey Giant
Marans
New Hampshire Red
Plymouth Rock
Rhode Island Red
Sussex
Wyandotte

Don't know if that's any use to you

I have Barnevelders, they're good egg layers, not eaten the meat thou
and Sussex, very good egg layers but mine go broody quite a bit :(

Hope that helps

Sarah :)
