pretty hen house?
« on: August 24, 2011, 12:01 »
Hello, Im treating the wood on my new chicken coop today, I am a little bit artistic and was going to do a little hand painted floral design on the side of the coop ( I have small children so wanted to make it pretty to look at for them)  I searched on the internet for some inspiration, but couldnt really find anything. I was wondering if any of you have particularly pretty hen houses that you would like to share with us? maybe we could start a little trend on here.
If you know of any websites can you send me the link too please?

Thanks
NIC. x

I think that is a lovely idea. I just painted ours white and it has a little handmade sign in the main door but that is all. Here is a pic-

Hi Jak, can I ask what paint you used? Ive only started with the roof and have used a water based green stain, but its a bit disappointing! (I think its because the wood is too smooth....shouldve read the label first.......)

thanks x

Ours is called 'Stalag Luft Chook' as an indirect homage to The Great Escape! To back this up[ their a few very deep dust baths that could easily pass for escape tunnels

Oh WOW, what fab imaginations you all have, so glad our ladies don't surf the net or they would be complaining that they live in a shanty town  :D

I think mine would get insufferable if they ended up in swanky accommodation like that  ;)

Yeah, but no prices,  ::). I got enough flack for getting an Omlet, don't think they'll be getting one of those.
