One for the dehydrator gang
I've been given some of this to try and was advised to add just a little to gravy or sauces for a great mushroom flavour - way more intense than puffball cooked in its natural state. On doing a bit of googling, it is a highly rated ingredient and people are cooking everything from pancakes to savoury pastries with it and raving about the results. I'll let you know how I get on, but it smells pretty wonderful.
Giant puffballs are so easy to recognise, even the most hesitant forager would find them easy to ID and its something I have never even thought about doing.
