Title: How long for eggs?
Post by: jinty1911 on November 02, 2010, 18:42
Think 2 of the girls are no longer broody.  :D  2 piles of poops in house this morning and only 1 big broody poo now.  So how long untill we get eggs again?  I think I read somewhere that if they are broody for 3 weeks it will be another 3 weeks til they lay again? Or will they not bother now untill spring?  They were only laying for a couple of weeks before the broody nonsense started.

My girls usually don't lay for about 2-3 weeks after they stop being broody. One in particular is regular as clockwork, lays for 3 wks, goes broody for 7 wks, 2wks to recover, lays for 3 wks, goes broody for 7wks....... >:( good job they're pets more than anything or she'd be on a one way trip to the pot.
With winter on its way though the egg production will probably drop anyway.
