odd pigment at tip of shells
« on: September 18, 2013, 22:42 »
Hi all, one of my chickens (at least one) is laying eggs that appear much darker at the end. My girls are all ex battery, the oldest I've owned for two years. Is this something to worry about? They seem fine otherwise...

Thanks!

Carrie

I've always put it down to age Carrie, you get all sorts of things like the colouring, shape, wrinkles etc when the hens get older!  Just enjoy the eggs while you are still getting them!  :)

My ex batts were the same, used to get 3 different rings of colours, looked quite nice actually!

Oh that's ok then, thanks for the replies, I just hate to think I might be missing anything obvious as I'm quite new to it all :-)
