One of my favourite savoury apple recipes is Pork & Apple Burgers - a combination of lean pork mince, red onion, grated apple, breadcrumbs, garlic, sage, nutmeg, salt & pepper, bound together with a beaten egg.  They're gorgeous done on the bbq or on a griddle on the hob so that they get a nice chargrilled cross-hatching 

Obviously you could make that mixture into meatballs - just brown them in a frying pan, then add pasta sauce and enjoy with whatever bargain sack of pasta you have to hand!!

I was going to suggest sliced bacon with your apple and pasta, but cheshirecheese's apple and mince meatballs sounds miles yummier - I'll be trying that!

I don't think Mrs G wants to even consider another apple for a few days...

Yesterday, she peeled, chopped, stewed and prepared about forty apples for the freezer, and that's not half of them yet..:0)
