7cm or 9cm square pots to start them off and how many to a pot?

Don't laugh I've never grown flowery things before.

OH started them off in root trainers last year, yes that's right, so going by that you'd perhaps get 2 to 3 per pot? See what others think though...

And we're not laughing about you growing "flowery things", they're good too. :)

I use 9cm square and do one in each corner, you have to get them outside sharpish though, cos the roots come out of the bottom big time.

So root trainers would be good, or even deep paper pots now I'm thinking about it...why didn't I do that...doh!

.. might as well make use of the local paper then. 2" diameter pots 4" high, 2 seeds per pot?

I've started mine off in the past using cardboard loo roll inners, but now use root trainers (birthday present last year lol!) - 4 inch minimum, but I'd try to go longer if possible. Jude.

You could also use kitchen towel innards (rolls) they're longer  :)

 It would literally take me years to save 12 tubes.  The best I could do was just over 5", the local paper isn't exactly a broadsheet.

Im still not sure where to put them in the garden yet....

Wherever you decide, make sure they've got something to climb, otherwise they'll ground crawl and be ruined. I grow it every year and High scent is not a bush type. All veg gardens need a few flowers for extra beauty and to attract more bees.  8)
