Does anyone know of a good (and cheap) supplier?

Fothergills have them but want to shop around a bit and I'd like that less knobbly one (forgotten the name  ::) )

It's in John's new book, by the way.  ;) John, do I get a promo fee for that?

Fuseau is the variety to look for. I planted some last year after picking up a few packs from the supermarket.  It was late April time I think and they were being sold off cheap.  I planted 4 and got a reasonable crop off them.  This year I've replanted about 6 tubers that I kept aside and I'll be looking forward to a crop every year now.

I love Jerusalem artichokes, they make my favorite soup...'Palestine'.

I have only ever used the ones you buy in the supermarket veg section, haven't had any problems yet!

Dont do it !!!

They 'orrible - trust me I eat most things but eeeeurghh  :tongue2:  :tongue2:  :tongue2:

Moles seeds do them - not sure what the delivery is though, I picked mine up from the local garden centre last year - 3 quid for 6 tubers.

Its a shame you're not closer there are 5 plants probably with 2.5Kgs of tubers each all going in the bin when I get round to digging them up.

I tried them last year, planting in the old bath I usually grow some carrots in.  They were okay, but Brian didn't like them at all!  But I suppose I will get another crop this year from the volunteers in the bath!!!!

I only started with a few about four years ago, they multiply like mad and now I have a never ending supply.   My OH loves them (they give me terrible wind )  If you begin to grow them, just make sure that they are in a separate bed from anything else because they will be very difficult to get rid of

More wind, great!

Thanks guys, a very kind forumista has offered to send me a few - I'll stick them out of the way and let you know how I get on!

I grew these a couple of years ago and I did enjoy the soups I made. However I am a "windy" person as it is and once I had these I could have been a rocket!! so never ever ever again :D :D
