Rhubarb division
« on: January 11, 2009, 15:06 »
I just dug out the old woody crown of my rhubarb. It so needed doing and I am going to be planting some crowns in pots while I prepare a new bed. The thing is I have lots of root without a bud on and wondered if I can plant these as well and they will grow new crowns or would they just rot. I have done a google and it all says pretty much the same thing, divide the crown. If the roots are going to grow new crown I can't compost them...... If they won't there no point in trying to raise them.....
