Green manure
« on: October 28, 2017, 11:42 »
The supply in my area of horse manure is fairly poor, where you can get it it is full of sawdust. So I’ve opted for using green manures, I’ve got sandy soil so can I just use green manures to keep the soil healthy and enough humus?

Defo
As I live ooop north in the tropics of England (Blackpool) we grow on what was the beach (seriously) and it is also as you can imagine very sandy, I have found green manures work really well both for locking in the soil and locking and adding nutrients. I cannot understand people on our site that leave it looking like a desert!!!
Use different ones for the following years crops.
