I have sown carrot and parsnip seed, in different spots, outdoors about 3 weeks ago. It may be a tad early for the parsnip to show but. What does a baby parsnip seedling look like after the first two leaf stage? A description or a pic would be nice. (I have tried a search) I have a vision of me diligently weeding the very thing I am trying to grow out of the ground. Carrot seedlings I recognise so have weeded accordingly and they are doing fine. An advice would be most welcome.

If you go to google, select "images", and then type "parsnip seedlings" in the search box, you'll get plenty of pictures!

think flat leaf parsley & coriander - all part of the same family group ;)

Had a bit of google about and found this. Thanks all.

I have done exactly the same as you - so I now have lots of weeds growing too as I didn't want to uproot anything!

Been up to the lotty this evening and I can see that I do indeed have some parsnips. Time for some weeding at the weekend. Thank you!!

This is a useful thread for me. We've planted parsnips on our new lottie, been on hols and the weeds are huge, but there are lots of parsnips there too :)
Thanks everyone
