Title: Plum trees
Post by: Jim T on March 21, 2007, 17:24
There are some well-established plum trees on the plot next to ours.

Would it be possible to dig em up now and move them to ours?

If we did, could we prune the tall stems down to about 7 ft. Alternatively, since the branches are quite thin, could we bend them to the side?

Hi Jim,

Read this & weep!!!!!!!!!!.....

To move established trees, you need to start preparing a year in advance & be prepared to move a root ball the size of which is equal to the spread of the branches!

You could always apply for that plot instead of / as well as your own ???

Great ideas fellers.
But my wife has just had a better one

We'll leave the trees alone and move the plums when ready

 :D
