Title: Too many to choose from - help

im going to see some chickens tomorrow, ive narrowed it down to 4 but dont know which to choose

araucana
silver spangled hamburg
cuckoo maran
jersey giant.

does anyone have any of these and tell me what they are like.

thanks aunty, thats a great site, dont like to go there tho, as i cant afford eglus and really really really want them - in pink  :lol: glad your link bypassed them and went straight to the chooks

the hamburg has lots of black spots like a dalmation.

isnt it a pretty chook.

but the araucana has breen eggs

the maran dark brown

and the giants are big and cuddly

and i have to limit myself to just one, else i'd fill the chicken garden up and they wouldnt be free range anymore.

i choooosed.

i went for the silver spangled hamburg and a transylvanian naked neck.

i popped pictures of them on the photo sticky.

I had a maran, I chose her for her brown eggs, she was lovely I also have an Aracana which is a smaller bird and has green eggs, shes yet to lay though.  I think they are nice, how many are you getting?

hi shazzer, i only went for one, but came home with two. a naked neck and a hamburg.

he had so many different ones to choose from when i got there, like a kiddie in a sweetie shop.

he had the biggest cochins id ever seen and the jersey giants were huge.

thankfully he is local-ish so im sure i will be going back soon for more.
