Indeed BD, my main hobby is photography but I do enjoy gardening too.

I am starting to grow vegetables and salads as I am not prepared to pay for expensive and tasteless stuff in the supermarket when I can do better.

As a pensioner, I have to watch the pennies, and growing my own food is the best way to go.

Have a look at my gallery. (Link is on my posts.)

Regards,

Peter

Wow ! ... I so want a camera

Black Diamond what is the name of the yellow/white dahlia and is that William Guiness Aquilegia .... would you have any seeds to swap ??  :D
PererR is your first photo an  or a gazania  :?

flowerlady the Dahlia's were bought from Wilco's just in plastic bags last year for 50p each so I don't know the names. The Aquilega is from a packet just called Giant Mix I saved the seed from the pink and yellow one and all the flowers from them were purple and white with a green tip so they did not come true.

Peter, I really like the black grounds on some of the pix. How did you achieve those?  And the washed out edgings on the tulips? And how do you make those various edgings? Some look like they're canvasses just out of a frame. I'd really like to grasp those techniques for my photography.  :D

It is called frames. All done with Adobe Photoshop CS3. Needs some practice.

Vignetting:

Extracting the flower and replacing the background:

How about a wood frame?
This is from Kew Gardens:

I knew it wasn't cheap but Amazon is always quite pricey.
