you need to keep on top of the slugs with pellets .here they last for a week in rain so i just top up when i see them disappearing. nematodes just kill whats there then they die off as nothing to feed on .. new slugs will move in from areas that are not covered  by pellets or todes    they can travel many yards in a warm damp evening

Its not a silly question.
When using pellets its important to follow the instructions carefully.

You should sprinkle them lightly on and around the suface of the area to be protected. At planting times you can bury a few to protect root grops IE potatoes.

If you place them too close together they simply do not work.

They act as a deterent not has a killer so lightly does it.

Try to use a shower resist type of pellet.

Follow the above and you will not go far wrong.

And dont worry about Munty laughing at your questions.

Munty as laughed at mine lots of times,Its like a badge of honour

I don`t think the big yellow slugs do too much damage it`s the small black ones that lurk underground and decimate plants during the night.Organic slug pellets are still effective if wet and I didn`t really have a problem this year(everything else attacked my veg this year). No snail problems as the thrushes take care of them.
