Just went to check on the chooks, they all seem happy and active and stuff but there is a poo or something on the floor - its the colour of an egg yolk really but could be poo i suppose - it doesnt look healthy at all

I have two ex batts, Martha has already laid an egg yesterday but pox hasnt laid today or yesterday - the others are pure breeds though they have been lying down a couple of times when i have gone out - all together though not just one

they all seem fairly perky... my instincts tell me its Pox the other ex batt that has done it

has anyone had anything similar or could tell me if this means real trouble?

Yes Feeb, that "Poo" sticky is one of the best things here I think, reckon it's put sooo many minds at ease.  So glad you have nothing to worry about. But......

pox hasnt laid

I'm dying to know how she got her name??

heheeh, Racheal named Pox, and Beryl actually - pretty cool as she helped me collect the hens and was generally my buddy through the whole thing, when she first said it - i said - Oh is that because shes small - like small pox u know

then i had to slap my forehead with my own sillyness - its Chicken Pox of course

i think its a great name, though someone said i should give the two battery chickens proper estate names (chardonney and jordan perhaps) because they grew up in da Hood

i think Martha and Pox though, it suits them

well, Phoenix LOOKS like a Phoenix which is awesome, and she is a big brown hippy too so i thought Phoenix was the best name for her plus the band i have just been hired by is called Trinity Phoenix which is a pretty cool conquencidence!

The others just sort of came you know -  as they do for all hens i suppose
