Plant ID help please
« on: May 26, 2012, 20:43 »
Hi,

2 plants in the garden that we can't ID.  Are they weeds? (what is a weed anyway?)

Can anyone identify them please?

(2 of each plant)

Thanks
Dan

The first looks similar to spinach run to seed

The first looks like some sort of kale; the second looked like that perennial weed with the pink flowers and downy seed heads (forget its name) but, looking at the flower bud, don't think so. Send us a pic of its flower then we may be able to help more.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Last two are Rose Bay Willow Herb.   :D

Spreads along railway lines with the seeds being carried by the wind caused by passing trains.  I think the Yanks call it Fireweed as it grows easily after a fire. ::)

Cheers,    Tony.
