Hi,

2 plants in the garden that we can't ID.  Are they weeds? (what is a weed anyway?)

Can anyone identify them please?

not sure about the first but the 2nd might be yellow loosestrife

The first looks similar to spinach run to seed

Agree that no.2 looks like Loostrife but seem's a bit tall to me.

The first looks like some sort of kale; the second looked like that perennial weed with the pink flowers and downy seed heads (forget its name) but, looking at the flower bud, don't think so. Send us a pic of its flower then we may be able to help more.

Last two are Rose Bay Willow Herb.   

Spreads along railway lines with the seeds being carried by the wind caused by passing trains.  I think the Yanks call it Fireweed as it grows easily after a fire.
