Title: Red mite treatment
Post by: Spadefighter on May 14, 2010, 16:18
Hi all,
just been cleaning out the coop and discovered a few red mite in there. I vaguely remember someone on here saying last year that a new treatment was about to be sold but they werent very specific. Has anyone heard of any new products that do more than mildly offend the mites?

In the meantime I've sprayed with a strong repellent, then blowtorched them as they scatter but it is a faff and one day Im bound to burn the coop down!

I use poultry shield inside my coup monthly as a preventative treatment.

Hi spadefighter - like joyfull I use Poultry shield once a week and then when the coop is dry I use a spray by Johnsons for pigeons to spray all the nooks and crannies.
