Yesterday I had 5 eggs!
Gee whizz, right? Except I have 6 hens, one of which is being a mum, one is coming off being broody and 5 POL pullets.
I've been getting 3 and 4 eggs a day for the past 2 weeks, so yesterday when I had 5 eggs it was very exciting... now, I don't know if the extra egg is from my ex-broody hen or if it is from a pullet, though I can say I didn't recognise it (the egg that is - now that may sound strange, but as experienced people will know, while each hen lays a slightly different egg (even within the same breed), they do tend to be consistent to each hen) and it was much smaller than a "normal" egg (54g vs 70+g)
I do hope it is a pullet egg (if it is it will be from the black rock, probably), as I'm having trouble fulfilling al my orders with only 4 eggs a day.
