Christmas bakes on display
« on: December 03, 2016, 15:20 »
A huuuuuuge cake for my GS's football club party and 48 chocolate 'Christmas pudding' cupcakes

It's a shame the pic doesn't show all the glitter on the words and in the snow!

Sampled one of these and they are lush - choc cake with white choc icing Mmmm

Lucky grandson & friends, love the writing, very neat. Does said grandson & parent come & help make them? Or would that be a bridge too far?

Writing wasn't too bad this time, but you can see I was beginning to run out of room for 'Christmas' .........don't think the lads will notice though!

No help with the cakes - they were busy doing the sandwiches and sausage rolls, but we got it all done in time.
Phew!

Here's 2 1/4s of the large Christmas cake I made to cut up as gifts, 1 of these is for my sister & the other is for me.

I'm going on Saturday to see her, not sure that it will arrive as decorated, after an aeroplane journey. Can you take it in your hand luggage does anybody know?
The other half of the cake is divided up in to 8 1/4s as individual cakes, are marzipaned & will get fondant icing tomorrow. So long since I made Christmas cakes & iced them can't really remember what you do,do you let the marzipan dry for a day or so before putting on the fondant?

You can put the cake in a box, space round the edge filled with kitchen roll and it should be fine in hand luggage Snowy. They look fab!

MoS I love the football cake, it looks excellent and any spare cupcakes can be sent her lol

They look lovely, snowdrops  ;)
As long as it fits in your hand luggage (careful with size for some airlines)

you can have in your hand luggage .... solid festive favourites like Christmas cakes, Christmas puddings and mince pies.
