I've just got back from our local Tesco, where we do most of our shopping and particularly like the people who work there so it's always a pleasant experience, and some banter always occurs - especially with the ladies on the aisles and the tills!
But they've just had a refurb done and I've noticed that all the shelves which used to be the enclosed chiller cabinets, have become doorless! Apparently, it's a new 'trend' in chilled sales, and in fact there's a better and more relaxed trawl down the aisles, and you can just grab anything without breaking your fingers, but IT'S FREEZING down the meaty bits!
Would I be right in saying that there's quite a lot of energy pouring into these new shelves, and is it all equated to not needing - say - air conditioning in the rest of the store? It isn't the warmest of days today, but even walking outside, it seemed a damn sight warmer than the earlier, colder areas of the store...
Anyone else seen or know about this new 'design'?
