It was hissing stair rods down first thing this morning on a continuous basis. Then it quietened down for a bit around lunchtime. Came home on a bus which broke down and whilst waiting for the next service bus, a thunderstorm arrived. Lovely. We have a lot of well blocked street drains.

Our heavy showers, forecast for the early hours - weren't - they barely wetted the soil, and then the sun came out again this morning  ::)
Wind is really picking up now, though, and I've had to close up the greenhouses and disconnect the automatic window openers
Fingers crossed for everybody - stay safe!

30mm fell during last nights thunderstorm.
This afternoon the very heavy showers have started and the wind has strengthened considerably. We're in few 2 or 3 horrible days, and I've got a community market to do tomorrow! It's indoors but getting the load into the car and then out into the market without getting the labels wet will be fun. Then after the market back into the car and then into the house!

We've had some gusts of 51mph today, raining at first but it's lovely and sunny this afternoon.
I got blown, in not quite a straight line, across the road this morning, but luckily I'd chosen a big gap in the traffic before I stepped off the kerb

Some dead branches blown down along the footpath, though. No sign of it easing off just yet. Roses and Dahlias flowers trashed in the garden :(

A mix of sun and showers but the wind is picking up a bit now.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

It's been raining stair rods here all day. The powers that be pumped out 7000 gallons of flood water next to the pub by the railway station over the other side of the river bridge yesterday and the dip has filled up again today. All the usual places have the usual amount of escapee water from the river or where the drains don't work properly. Be fun to see if any buses get out of the village tomorrow - get in they can but unless someone drains the road further along towards Newcastle it will be boating only.

The sun is out and it is quite pleasant and there is only a breeze.  A few black clouds came over about an hour ago, but they have gone on now.

Raining, 15C - which feels miserable and cold considering it's August  :(

Don't think there'll be much cricket today  ::)

15C here too, and been raining on and off all day, although not amounting to much in total.

Finally given up trying to convince myself that I must be warm enough because it's mid August and have put the heating on for a while.

I have given up as well, I got soaked through twice, and about 4pm turned mine on as well, it stayed on until about 8ish, yes 'oh my'.    Certainly not exactly summer here today either, but not raining.   Mrs B
