Hi,

I planted 6 cordon apples last winter but I think I have planted them too closely to the wall.

I would like to move them away from the wall.

I am after some advice of when would be best to do this, I'm guessing winter time, but is there anything I should do to prepare them?

They shouldn't have put out too many really big roots in a year.

Just make sure you prepare the new planting hole before digging the tree out; take as big a rootball as you can; and water well.  Don't do it when frozen or waterlogged.

Cool, they are going in virtually the same spot. The soil is in good condition as it has had plenty of manure added over the last 3 years.

They were grafted at an angle as they were cordons, but I only realised this til after I planted them  so it would be nice to turn them around before they get too big!
