Went into local garage this morning and saw a load of empty flower tubs outside. Picked up loaf of bread and whilst paying, casually asked if the flower tubs went back to the supplier or were disposed of. 'Ill just check' says very helpful assistant and goes away to ask. 'Help yourself' came the reply. I didn't need to be told twice. :D :D

I was going to ask the obvious question ...... Now I've got them, what do I use them for??
I wondered if they were too small for 'patio' courgettes?
They will need drainage holes drilled whatever I decide to use them for I suppose.

Yes I think so, plus the plant would probably rock about & get damaged when it gets big, I done courgettes in bottomless ones & planted straight in to the soil to save that sulk that they do on transplanting plus it leaves a watering reservoir at the top.

That's a great idea as last year I struggled to get enough water to the courgettes.

I also plant 2ltr bottles with the bottoms cut off to water the roots,great in hot weather as you don't get water evaporation.
