I wish all of you a safe and relaxing holiday. Enjoy with those near and dear to you!

As for me, on Christmas Eve I cooked dinner for Mrs. Subversive and our two sons, Indian dishes.  We had Badaami Murgh (chicken smothered in aromatic herbs and almonds), Badshahi Pullao (emperor's pilaf with mushrooms), and Kheere ka Raita (Cucumber and yoghurt salad). We ate like a football team, with enough still to have leftovers!

I'll make brunch for everyone in the morning (buttermilk biscuits, turkey sausage gravy, fruit salad). Back to a low-fuss dinner in the evening.

Subversive, last night's dinner sounds wonderful, making my mouth water thinking about it

My husband cooked salmon last night, not sure how it happened but it's a Christmas Eve custom and given how much he dislikes cooking I'm very appreciative.

The plan was to go to son and daughter in law for lunch but with my new hip they decided to come here and cook

We have beef for lunch and then cheese, cold cuts, salad and/or crudités and dips for tea if we are hungry. Basically a bit of a palaver earlier in the day with cooking, then a relaxed no fuss evening

Roast lamb with all the usual trimmings, for me, Stig & Katy and gammon and salad stuff if anyone is interested at teatime, after cakes, mince pies, chocs and the rest 
We all had lateral flow tests this morning, to try to make things as safe as we could... luckily all negative

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas day.
Despite all the gloom and uncertainty, that was one of the best Christmas days I think I've had. Cara cooked most of it, I assisted and the meal was wonderful. The washing up, not so much!
Grandson Gabriel was in good form - building Lego models and watching a film about a worm. Oh to be 8! His dinner mainly consisted of stuffing balls and pigs in blankets with some token other bits on the plate Oddly he forgot to eat the token sprout!
Felt very sorry for Her Majesty - a poignant message delivered with her usual professionalism and dignity.

I sincerely hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas - I'm now looking forward to today with relish (chilli jam - ha ha ha...)!
