I bought a bag of wood chips as a bulking agent for my hot bin, i
goes in the bottom and everything goes on top of it with a few twigs, it certainly speeds things up
Even on chilly days/nights the temperature is hot enough to create steam in there
It is supposed to be hot enough to kill weed seeds
