Pink Fir Apple and Rocket Earlie's question
« on: March 07, 2008, 08:47 »
Hi I have had my Pink Fir Apple and Rocket seed spuds chitting away in the garage.
The Rocket are chitting nicely and I would like to know is it okay to plant them out this weekend ( I live in Cheshire).
However the Pink Fir Apple were put in the same spot at the same time 4 weeks ago and there is not a single chit on any of them? Is this normal or are they dead?

Thanks for looking.

Pink Fir Apple and Rocket Earlie's question
« Reply #2 on: March 07, 2008, 10:03 »
I live in the middle of the north wales coast, about 1.5 miles from the sea.
I'm thinking of planting out my chitted Pentland Javelin (first early) this week end - my question is....is it too early, am I better off planting half this week and the other half in a fortnight.? Also I have Charlotees (second early) and Pomador (main crop) all well chitted....when could I put these in?
Thanks in advance
Donut

It's probably a bit early for planting yer rocket but you could try a few under a couple of layers of fleece, I know I have.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Rocket is a very early new pot, PFA is main crop salad. They will chit in their own time, don't worry.
