So noisy

Hi all,

I have my original chicken and she is going mad making a real racket. She lays her egg and then after that for hours she is very agitated and keeps squawking and making a weird noise. If I go and sit outside she stops and she follows me everywhere.

Is she jealous of my new chicken maybe? I got a laid back Buff Orpington who is no threat at all and very placid. She lost a chick last week and has ignored the other one since and is making it fend for itself, I can't work it out.

She was in the garage as she had a chick and we converted that but is now in the chicken house and run with the others and its fine no arguing or fighting. She has free run of the garden all day.

Any ideas whats wrong with her please before she drives me mad.

No idea :!: Why would she make so much racket 'after' she has laid an egg :?: If she has just been introduced to the Buff that could be the reason. I think you'll have to be patient until they get to know each other. Hang up some greens for her to reach for, it might give here something else to think about :roll:
