I dont know if you can get disposable shoe covers...those would REALLY be handy for me! I always seem to nip into the chooks when I have just got ready for work. AND, some visitors have inappropriate footwear, or even some keep chooks of their own, and might bring in DISEASES!!!   Telling you only after touring the garden that they have lost x number of choox to a 'cough' and cold!!!

As I suffer with Reynauds I have just treated myself to some heated gloves, great for taking out the feeders, waterers and opening up the coops on cold, icy and snowy mornings, just need to find some heated socks now

You can get them not battery operated too... I suppose they must be plug in then, like an electric blanket...

Another great Christmas pressie (admittedly not really a stocking filler at the price although there are some good deals on *bay at the moment) would be a pair of Muck Boots - they negate the need for heated socks as they are just soooo warm (you only need a thin pair of socks on with them), the grips are great if you get the "Tay" design or similar so no freewheeling through the mud! 
Mine are nearing the end of their life really (I have had them 5 years!) but they've still done me proud in all the snow and horrible weather we've had recently.

Another good one is waterproof gloves (thinking back to my horsey days) as it makes messing around with cold water and drinkers and general outside jobs so much more bearable!

sadly with reynauds it doesn't matter what I wear on my feet (I usually wear rigger boots which are fleecy lined, thermal boot socks and ordinary cotton socks) I still suffer so heated socks are the way forward for me. I can even suffer in the height of summer especially when riding a motorbike, but thanks for the suggestion
