Title: dirty vent and floppy comb!!
Post by: Nat100 on April 10, 2010, 08:15
Hi, just wondered if anyone can help? I have 6 hybrid chickens and my 2 rangers both have very dirty feathers around their rear and one has a floppy comb too. Otherwise appear to be eating drinking normally if a tad miserable. Had symptoms for a couple of days.
Hope you can shed some light!! They were all wormed with Vern-x 2 weeks ago.
Thanks
Nat

Do they have a temperature? feel under the wing and then compare to another healthy bird. Are they laying? Clean their rear end and then blow dry using a warm heat setting not a hot setting. Have you compared their poohs to those on the pooh pages? How long has her comb been floppy and is it pale?

Hi, she's had a floppy comb for 2 days but it's not pale, I'm gonna give them a clean up this morning. Neither are laying, they haven't layed since before their moult(which they have both finished now). They both layed what i was told was a lash a couple of months ago if that has anything to do with it?? I will check their temperature when i wash them, they haven't got a cold at the moment though, no runny nostrils or coughing, sneezing etc..
