Title: celeriac leaves
Post by: viettaclark on September 18, 2009, 12:53
Please can anyone tell me if celeriac leaves are edible? I only ask because they have not been eaten at all by slugs etc. and the chickens don't like them so I have loads of lovely greens and it would be a shame to waste them!!!

Yes,

you can add the leaves to salads, you can use the stalks like celery in soups and stews, although you need to chop them finely as they may be a little stringy.

Update: I've just tried a leaf and they're quite bitter, so probably not much use really.

I have used them for making stock as I don't usually keep celery - gives it a lovely flavour.
