Hello - just joined so I can specifically ask this question! I have grown Magic Michael basil from a packet of seed but what has come up bears no resemblance to any basil I know, does not have any particular smell, even when I tear a leaf and I feel so disappointed. Basil I have grown before smells amazing even if you just water it or brush past a leaf! Does anyone have any experience with this variety? Does this variety have flavour but little scent? I grew it for cooking of course. Any help gratefully received.

Welcome to the site :D
I'll move your question across to the GYO bit for people to have a look at it. :)

Thank you. Sad to have no replies. Checked seed packet and it is actually Magical Michael.

On wiki it says it is just another cultivar of basil so it should look and smell like basil.
Do you think it could have been packeted wrongly? You could get on to the seed producers. I got some sweet pepper seeds last year which turned out to be hot peppers and I got a refund. Not the same as having your own produce of course but some compensation.

I've never heard of it so can't help really.
